Riku is feeling a bit like a hermit today. He's in his room at the bar, the lights turned to dim, and at least four blankets pulled around him. He's got a really thick book in his hands, and he's about halfway through it.
Hermit day. He's not expecting anyone to come by. Though he kinda wishes they would. He wants a reason to come out of hiding!

She is at his door now, knocking gently but firmly.
"Riku?" she calls.
no subject
"Come on in," he responds.
He can't wait to see her face.
no subject
"Hello Riku," she says with a soft smile. "I hope I'm not disturbing you."
Though it doesn't seem like she is. She gives the blankets a look.
"Are you cold?"
no subject
Riku shrugs the blankets off and opens his arms to her, making a pretty clear signal that a hug would go well right now.

Her smile widens as she closes the door behind her and walks towards him.
"I haven't seen you for too long," she says as she hugs him. "I missed you."

"We can call it even," she says, straightening to look at him. She hasn't seen him in a while -- she wants to study him again.

"I know," she says. But it doesn't stop her. She giggles. "Tell me, Riku. What have you been up to?"
no subject
He'd just rather concentrate on -her- right now. None of that dumb stuff outside of the bar. There's a fond look on his face, now.
Then he smirks.
"Hey, lady," he says. "Did heaven lose an angel?"
no subject
"Oh, Riku. You did not just say that," she says in a very Kairi-esque manner.
Perhaps she would have fallen for something like that a long time ago, but now she's far more learned, having spent a little more than a year joined with her Other. She's seen quite a bit.
Then she giggles again.
no subject
"Of course I did," Riku says, sounding assured about himself. "I've got others, too. "I tried to paint you one day, yasee. But no colours were beautiful enough!"
no subject
"Where did you learn that one?"
no subject
Shifty eyes!

He's just sitting there, grinning at her. Clearly one may have to kick him to get him to stop.
no subject
Except Naminé isn't the sort to kick people, so...she'll have to use a different tactic -- if she can think of what that tactic will be.
In any case, she rolls her eyes. "I hope you're running out."

"That one's just fine," she says, reaching to take his hand. "I love you too."
no subject
"But just so you know, these are all very normal in the outside world."
Teasing, much?
no subject
"Are they," she says more than asks. "Well, I don't see how they could ever work on anybody."
no subject
He sounds a little disgusted at this. He's dealt with too many of those type.
no subject
"Really," she says.
no subject
no subject
"I do believe he has his eye on someone, actually."
no subject
Really, Sora.

She idly begins to trace little patterns on his hand with her finger.
"You should really teach him a thing or two."
no subject
....twice!
He kisses her on the cheek, still grinning.
no subject
"Seeing as I've been hopelessly in love with you for quite a while in the first place."
no subject
Riku pauses. Now he's curious. "Why did it start, anyway?"
It's a silly question, but they're being silly, anyway.
no subject
"You know," she admits, looking down for a moment. "I don't even think I remember, it was so long ago."
She smiles, suddenly remembering something. "Maybe it was the first time you let me bandage you after you'd been hurt. The fact that you allowed me to be close to you ... you seemed so distant. It made me feel good. Wanted."
no subject
She was right, really. His long-standing habit has been to push most people away, and he's not looking to change that anytime soon. But in her case... well, his armour had chipped, and her light got inside.
"Always so beautiful, too. Inside and out."
no subject
"I am very glad to have met you, Riku," she tells him. "And to know you and love you. I never want that to change."
no subject
Which could be as early as tomorrow, honestly, with what he does - but he's not going to say that. He's not going to spoil this.
